Child safety in procurement When planning or managing a procurement, consider whether the goods or services involve children and how any associated child safety risks will be managed. Child safety can be relevant to a wide range of procurements and is not limited to services delivered directly to children. Not every procurement will require additional child safety controls. Your approach should reflect the nature of the procurement, the supplier's potential interaction with children, and any applicable legal requirements. This guidance helps Queensland Government buyers to: identify when child safety should be considered throughout the procurement lifecycle assess the nature and level of child safety exposure apply procurement controls proportionate to that exposure understand when additional supplier information, evaluation, or contract management controls may be appropriate.
