The strategy focuses on initiatives that aim to improve procurement maturity across the life of the strategy.
The strategy outlines initiatives across four pillars:
- Attract: Initiatives focused on attracting talent to procurement and contract management roles.
- Develop: Initiatives to develop the capability of staff undertaking procurement and contract roles across the public service.
- Engage and retain: Initiatives focused on engaging and retaining procurement and contract management staff, so they feel valued in their roles.
- Lead: Initiatives at a strategic level that provide development and direction for staff in leadership roles and uplift the overall capability of an agency’s procurement and contract management function.
