QGEA Artificial intelligence directions
Queensland Government executives are responsible for evaluating artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for transparency, accountability, and risk to ensure efficient and ethical use in the government context.
The Queensland Government Enterprise Architecture (QGEA) provides direction and guidance for strategic planning, governance, risk management and ethical use of IT solutions that include AI. The QGEA can help executives understand their obligations when business processes are augmented with AI solutions. Executives should understand and mitigate the risks of data exposure, poor information quality, and automated decision making associated with the deployment or use of AI.
Agencies can access the international standards that regulate the Queensland Government’s management of artificial intelligence below, together with supporting policies and guidelines
- ISO 22989 establishes common terms and concepts for artificial intelligence
- ISO 38507 provides guidance for stakeholders to enable and govern the use of artificial intelligence
- ISO 42001 specifies requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an artificial intelligence management system.
