Reward and recognition awards

How we celebrate the work of community recovery

The Community Recovery Ready Reserve Reward and Recognition Awards is an annual event celebrating the hard work of whole-of-government Ready Reserves who help those in need, either on the front line or behind the scenes.

Ready Reserves can be nominated for the following award categories:

  • Minister’s Special Commendation Award
  • Quiet Achiever Award
  • Exceptional Services Award
  • Team Excellence Award
  • Workplace Award
  • Non-Field and Specialist Ready Reserve Award
  • Agency Key Contact / Agency Deployment Coordinator Award
  • Adam Garnett Perpetual Award.

Nominations open at the end of the Disaster season—usually in June of each year.

Past award ceremonies

The Queensland Government Ready Reserve workforce was recognised at the 2022 Community Recovery Ready Reserve Reward and Recognition Awards on 19 October 2022.

Award category winners for 2022 were:

  • Minister’s Special Commendation Award—Victoria Moffrey, Department of Communities, Housing and Digital Economy
  • Quiet Achiever Award—Deborah McDonald, Department of Transport and Main Roads
  • Exceptional Services Award—Deanne McInally, Department of Employment, Small Business and Training
  • Team Excellence Award—Virtual Home Visits Team and Gympie Flood Team
  • Workplace Award—Department of Resources
  • Non-Field and Specialist Ready Reserve Award—Tara Philpot, Department of Communities, Housing and Digital Economy
  • Agency Key Contact / Agency Deployment Coordinator Award—Amy Warner, Department of Education
  • Adam Garnett Perpetual Award—Daniel Pedersen, Department of Communities, Housing and Digital Economy
