Complete Queensland University of Technology’s (QUT) Graduate certificate in business (public sector management) to develop your leadership skills and learn about the systems of government and national and global business practices.
The QUT Public Sector Management Program (PSMP) is a national program that provides current and aspiring team leaders and program managers with the knowledge and skills to successfully navigate the business of government and position themselves for future leadership opportunities.
The program has a blend of in-person and virtual sessions over approximately 12 – 15 months. Participants receive a Graduate Certificate in Business (Public Sector Management) and are eligible for credit or advanced standing in future post-graduate programs including MBAs.

- managing self and others
- managing outwards in a networked government
- managing operations for outcomes.
You’ll learn about:
- government and the context within which you operate
- institutional frameworks and conventions which guide practice and ensure sustainable democratic processes
- individual and group behaviours, and develop skills for communicating and managing people and teams
- relationships that you need to build across and outside of the public sector
- effective tools, processes and diagnostic capabilities to deliver and sustain the business-of-government.
Speak to your manager/supervisor or HR team to find out what support is available for you to enrol in PSMP. Your HR team will also be able to share the information about the 2024-25 scholarship opportunities available to all Public Sector agencies.
