Cyber threat intelligence

Learn how cyber threat intelligence enables security and business decision makers to safeguard critical assets.

The Queensland Government Cyber Defence Centre collects, analyses and interprets information about current and potential cyber attacks to protect the government’s information systems and digital assets. This intelligence identifies potential vulnerabilities, anticipates attack methods, and helps implement strategic defences before breaches occur.

Cyber threat intelligence is key in fostering inter-agency collaboration by ensuring threat information is effectively shared across the Queensland Government, creating a unified defence against cyber threats.

Cyber threat intelligence involves a structured approach to assess risks posed by cyber criminals, nation-state actors and other malicious entities. This proactive approach includes real-time monitoring of cyber security threats and predictive analysis based on historical trends and indicators of compromise, such as security breaches.

By providing timely and relevant intelligence briefings, decision makers and IT teams can make informed choices on resource allocation, cyber security policies and incident response planning. The intelligence gathered reflects the unique needs and vulnerabilities of the Queensland Government, focusing on identifying threat actors' tactics, techniques, and procedures to aid in developing tailored defence measures.
