Find out more about the Disaster and Emergency Services Reform.
The Queensland government has introduced three bills to parliament aimed at strengthening disaster and emergency services in the state.
These bills will establish Marine Rescue Queensland as an entity and provide a boost to the operational capabilities of the State Emergency Service. The legislation will recognise the importance of the new Marine Rescue Queensland and the State Emergency Service, both of which will be hosted by the Queensland Police Service under the proposed emergency services amendments.
The changes respond to a range of sweeping disaster and emergency services reforms to enhance Queensland’s capacity to respond to natural disasters and keep people safe in our oceans and waterways.
