Cyber security analyst

Description

  • Ensures the collection, processing, preservation, analysis and presentation of evidence in support of information security incident investigations.
  • Monitors for vulnerabilities, assesses risks and provides advice on potential mitigations.
  • Provides initial response to cyber incidents in line with internal procedures which may include initial response or resolution for more complex incidents.
  • May provide advice and guidance on responding to threats and incidents.​
  • The security analyst will work closely with other security specialists to:​
    • ensure that appropriate policies, standards and controls are adhered to, to allow appropriate access to information and prevent malicious attacks.​
    • developing policies that that provide users with guidelines that assist in ensuring information is stored and accessed in a safe way.​
  • A sound appreciation of the organisation’s operating environment and sensitivity of information is central to this role.
  • Maintains situational awareness of the organisation’s operating environment and requirements for managing the security of its information.
