Exercise practitioner program
The Exercise practitioner program (EPP) is designed to equip entities with the capability to independently design, deliver, and evaluate high-quality cyber security exercises through the provision of effective training to nominated exercise facilitators.
This program addresses critical gaps in exercise delivery by building in-house expertise, fostering operation resilience, and enabling proactive incident management.
Aligned with the Australian Institute of Disaster Resilience framework, the program offers a structured curriculum that empowers practitioners to master scenario design, exercise planning, facilitation, and post-exercise evaluation. The program is a transformative step towards standardising and centralising the cyber exercising approach across Queensland Government, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and alignment with strategic goals.
The program aims to establish a unified framework for cyber exercising across the Queensland government, addressing challenges such as inconsistent exercise quality, reliance on external resources, and variable frequency. By fostering internal capabilities, the program seeks to:
- empower entities with foundational and advanced cyber exercising skills
- increase participation in Whole-of-Queensland Government cyber exercises
- create a system of continuous improvement to ensure ongoing relevance and impact.
