The Queensland Government’s new Queensland Procurement Policy 2026 will take effect on 1 January 2026.
The current policy, including the Ethical Supplier Threshold, will remain in place until 31 December 2025.
The Ethical Supplier Mandate will also transition to the new Procurement Assurance Model on 1 January 2026..

Supporting Queenslanders through the Buy Queensland approach to government procurement.
The Buy Queensland approach comprises the Queensland Procurement Strategy 2023 – Jobs, Economy, Legacy, Confidence (QPS) and Queensland Procurement Policy 2023 (QPP). Introduced in 2017, Buy Queensland uses the power of procurement to provide goods and services while creating positive change in Queenslanders’ lives.
Recognising that ‘value for money’ is more than just the lowest price, Buy Queensland uses public spending to drive the government’s economic, ethical, social and environmental objectives that support Queenslanders.
