Queensland Shared Services (QSS) provides finance, human resources and telecommunications services to government agencies.

We help manage finances accurately and efficiently while complying with government regulations.

Accounts receivable

Our team maintains accurate customer data and efficiently processes revenue transactions, including invoices, credit notes, and adjustments. We oversee trade debt recovery, using proactive monitoring and timely reporting to ensure effective debt management.

Accounts payable

From processing eForms, invoices, and travel expenses to managing vendor records and corporate card accounts, our services support fast, reliable expenditure management. We also resolve corporate card disputes and ensure payment policies are followed.

Assets

We manage all aspects of asset transactions, including asset creation, transfers, disposals, and regular reconciliations to keep records current. We also help agencies plan and conduct stocktakes, and provide comprehensive reporting to support asset management.

Taxation

Our services include preparing and submitting various tax returns – GST, FBT, PAYG, payroll tax, and fuel credits – that are compliant and on time. We offer expert tax advice and work closely with the ATO and other organisations on tax rulings and compliance matters.

General ledger and reporting

We ensure efficient processing of general ledger entries, reconciliation of balance sheets, and cash flow forecasting. Our team supports period-end activities, such as preparing accruals, to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Other finance services

We conduct daily payment runs and manage urgent payments to support the community in times of crisis. Our team follows up on unacquitted travel advances and assists departments in retrieving archived financial records and documents needed for audits or investigations.

We provide a complete range of HR services, including payroll, recruitment support, reporting, job evaluation and rehabilitation.

Payroll

We pay more than 73,000 people each fortnight including processing employee earnings, deductions and adjustments, and managing out-of-cycle payments. We process appointments, WorkCover and income protection claims, and produce pay advices.

Recruitment

We can manage the entire recruitment process for advertised and non-advertised positions. This includes advertising vacancies, processing appointments from continuous applicant pools or multiple appointments for the same advertised position, and related support.

Job evaluation

We conduct role analyses and provide evaluation outcome reports and finalised position descriptions.
