Financial Reporting and Management Enhanced Systems (FRaMES)
About the project
The Financial Reporting and Management Enhanced Systems (FRaMES) project is a Queensland Treasury-led initiative to replace and modernise whole-of-government financial reporting and budget management enterprise systems (inclusive of Tridata and BudgetPlus).
The FRaMES project will ensure the Queensland Government is able to deliver new forms of reporting, better track and evaluate fiscal and policy outcomes, and more accurately inform future decisions.
Why is Queensland Treasury updating its systems?
For Queensland Treasury, the FRaMES Project is expected to deliver:
- a capable, secure, and modern cloud-based solution
- more responsive and agile support for informed funding decisions by Queensland Treasury and the Queensland Government
- more dynamic business processes that result in efficient resource allocation, time savings and improved user and customer experience
- contemporary data analytics tools to support funding decisions and monitoring.
Queensland Treasury partners—agencies, government-owned corporations, shared service providers and statutory bodies—can expect to experience:
- improved data accuracy and efficiency through reduction in manual entries
- easier system navigation through improved user interface
- faster processing speeds
- reduced duplication and manual reconciliation
- increased simplicity and data security through minimised system handling
- more flexible reporting tools.
What is Queensland Treasury’s Whole-of-Government engagement strategy?
Queensland Treasury is taking a human-centred approach in designing the new solution. This includes engagement with representatives of the 110 entities that engage with Queensland Treasury.
A business working group has been established to drive activities such as identifying business requirements, user testing and other activities required to validate and implement the final solution.
