It's been a testing month for our state, and I'd like to provide a message of thanks and appreciation to you all for the role you've played in helping Queenslanders get back on track.
As we move from response to recovery, I know you will continue your important work supporting our state in returning to normal.
Hi, everyone. I just wanted to give a message of extreme gratitude for what's been a really, really testing month for our state. It started in the North with floods around Ingham and Townsville and Cardwell, and it ended with a cyclone crossing the coast in the south. It's something we haven't seen in over 50 years. And through it all, the Queensland Public Service stood up and stood up and was counted well and truly. And I want to thank every one of you for the role you've played. Whether you were front line, whether you were providing logistical support, whether you continue to go to work in challenging times, I just want you to know how grateful we really are. And there is no doubt that Queenslanders would not have been able to get through it without the support of those agencies. We're not done yet. We've got a lot of work ahead and we now flick the switch from response to recovery. And again, that's only possible with the public service that is able to do its job. So to every one of you, thank you very much. It's been a testing month, but we've got through it. And the state continues to be the resilient place we know it is. Thanks very much.
