Radio buttons must represent 'or' options.

- Conforms with user expectations of radio buttons which will reduce the cognitive load to determine how to respond.

- Increased cognitive load.
- Reduced trust.

Radio buttons are to be used where a user can only select one of the present options.
If a user can select more than one of the presented options, check boxes must be used.
Drop down select controls can also be used for 'or' options, but where less than seven options are presented, radio buttons are recommended. Radio buttons allow users to more easily scan, compare, choose and reconsider their choice of the available options.
